Learning needs of children must be covered through different well-thought methodologies. Besides the content of a specific course syllabus; philosophical and psychological approaches taught for educational and academics matters a lot. Compared to the traditional teaching methodology; considering that nowadays one of the key challenges is to get student's attention.
Use technology to personalize learning; but it should facilitate and actualize that collaboration, not dictate or determine its outcome.
The educators must try out these three modes of learning - reception, concept and collaboration.
🥀 Reception is model of learning where there is transmission of knowledge from the teacher to the students. So, learning here is being taught. The teacher directly interacts with students.
🥀 Concept is totally different with reception because in this model, students construct by their selves the meaning of concept of knowledge through imagination, discovery, open-ended learning, sketching & painting, sand play. Here learning means an individual sense-making.
🥀 Collaboration let students or learners to interact with other learners then collaboratively building knowledge. It can be in form of group discussion, debates, asking questions, reasoning or puzzles and riddles. It will be very enjoyable learning in the class if there are various activities applied. So, teacher need to know, even master and apply different options for learning.
QUALITY INTERACTIONS: Handle it wrong and your authority in the class is compromised; handle it right and you role model how an adult can right a wrong in a profoundly meaningful way for children.
√🥀 Teachers need to ensure that students clearly understand the purpose of the interaction they are being asked to undertake.
√🥀 A trusting classroom culture has to be maintained in which students feel that whatever level of language they can produce, their contributions will be valued by their teacher and peers and will never be subject to ridicule, sanctions, or negative comparisons.
√🥀 Teachers need to make sure students have ideas upon which they will elaborate. Students must be helped to organize their thoughts and ensure their language follows specific patterns.
√🥀 Teachers must pay attention to the words students use. Is one word repeated several times in an interaction? If so, teachers can take the opportunity to introduce a synonym.
By letting the kids to understand the basic idea of the human existence, we could understand how a meaningful learning experience means a lot more to a student, than a lecture itself.
