Don't Look At Muslims; Look In The Mirror!

The Supramist Majoritarian Mindset Needs to Introspect
Who are the people who vote BJP. Muslims didn’t cheer for this government, we didn’t clap for bulldozers, we didn’t want journalists jailed or our houses razed. So when a government that we didn’t vote for, didn’t celebrate, didn’t bring to power – turns its full might against us – it is not a story about Muslims.
It is a mirror to the collective conscience of the majority. Because 14% of the population cannot threaten a democracy. But a sleeping majority can destroy it.
You knew exactly what you were voting for. You knew what would happen to hijabis, to meat-sellers, to protestors. You watched your own youth be radicalised and unleashed like street dogs, frothing at the mouth, marching outside mosques, drunk on hate. And still, you handed them power again. And again.
Now some of you show up in panels, in press clubs, at book launches and say you "condemn". You say you "stand in solidarity". But with what? With whom? And for how long – before you return to your privilege?
When hundreds of Muslim homes are bulldozed overnight, when schoolgirls are debarred for wearing hijab, when men are lynched over rumours, and when mobs scream genocide slogans on your roads, what do you do?
You stay silent. Or worse – you justify. You laugh. You say, "there must be a reason."
So here’s the truth: Your sympathy means nothing if you can't slap your own.
You want atrocities to stop? Start talking to your own people.
Why are you so afraid of confronting your caste cousin who shares lynching videos?
Why can’t you block your temple's hate preacher?
Why do you stay silent when your uncle says, "they breed too much"?
Every time a Muslim is attacked, it isn’t just a fringe group.
It’s your society, your street, your party, your silence that allowed it.
You want to know how Muslims feel?
We’re watching you post hashtags while your vote funds bulldozers.
We’re listening to your poetry while your streets chant for our death.
We see your articles and panels – but do you come on the ground when it matters?
You know how much of the population eats meat. You know who the real encroachers are. You know that Muslim localities are razed without notice while others expand unchallenged. You know how many hijabi girls top exams, how we break barriers despite discrimination. Yet you hand over power to thugs and third-grade rowdies who make a living out of threatening these very girls.
Don’t act shocked. Don’t perform regret. Don’t call yourself an ally if your house is silent while ours is burning.
This is not just about BJP. If this was only one party’s hate, the others would have united and stopped it. But they didn’t. Why? Because the hate works. Because the rot has seeped deep into the conscience of the majority.
Every party is complicit. They know what wins elections. They know how to whisper against hate and shout against Muslims. So don’t say the opposition is helpless. Say they are spineless.
Let this be said loud and clear: As a Muslim, I will no longer be fooled by your "lesser evil". I will not waste time asking you for justice that you don’t even offer your own conscience.
And one more thing: You don't even boycott the rapists from your society. Have you questioned the courts rewarding them with bails, paroles, furloughs? Even when they’ve violated your own daughters in ashrams, politics, temples? You don’t even protest to say openly, "We don’t want rapists roaming free in our society." What solidarity mask are you wearing?
Muslims don’t need saviors. We are already surviving your silence, your complicity, your cowardice. If you really care, start your homework. Start with your own community.
Use your privilege to protect your own existence with dignity first. Because your community is not limited to one political party — it has spread its tentacles into every party. This is not a party problem.
This is a community problem. A conscience problem. A rotting society problem.
You want to show solidarity? Then clean your house. Slap the hate in your own family. Disown the goons you've created. Challenge the bigots you drink chai with.
You don’t need to save us. Save yourselves. Because Muslims were never the threat. Your apathy was. Your complicity is. Your cowardice will be.
Don’t bring us your guilt. We’re not your redemption story. We’re the mirror. And now we’re holding it up for the whole world to see.
This is not just one political party. This is your collective conscience reflection. And it’s rotting.
