Let's speak volumes

We can't mistake activity for progress. No country can ever truly flourish if it stifles the potential of its women and deprives itself of the contributions of half its citizens.

When there aren't people who look like us or have shared experiences, sometimes our voices are discounted. To overcome these barriers it requires us to have courageous conversations on what it would look like if we made workplaces work for everyone.

It's so important we remember to speak to ourselves as if we're speaking to someone we really care about. Everyone talks to themselves, and over time it matters how. Do it with patience and compassion!

We can not let up on speaking out against what is not right. 10 years from now we can't come back to the same conversation. We need to get stronger with our stance around what is acceptable when it comes to making people feel like they are part of something.

Women are not the litmus papers you use to test your insecure, unfulfilling redundant love. If you feel you must test my love, then you were never worthy of it in the first place. This itself speaks volumes.

Intersectionality is the recognition that each of us has multiple dimensions in terms of our identity. While there are certain aspects of our identity that create barriers for some of us, there are also parts of our identity that create privilege.

Be more than an inspiration, be a lifetime resource so we can educate and pave the way for someone else. Have the curiosity to learn and continue to learn throughout your career. Be value creators within your organization. It’s a leaky bucket. There’s masses amount of talent we just need to create those access routes back.

You need to make sure you have the right environment in place. You need to make sure that you are representing things correctly and you are opening a road to make sure people feel comfortable in your spaces.

You take people as far as they will go, not as far as you would like them to go.
